Farmtisa is a company duly registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission on 17th August, 2020 and with Registration Number 1698542. It started off with the main goal of progressively investing in Pig Farming, as a step into major aspects of agricultural business in Nigeria.

Farmtisa has an impressive start up making it knowledgeable and ready to cope with any harsh operating environment which may occur in any future time. The company is out to make the best use of abundant raw materials and readily available labour in the market without compromising the use of quality materials and skilled professionals in achieving its investment goals

The market for the products is presently under tapped. Local available technology is of good quality and the income level adequate. Management and technical knowledge of the staff are out to be tapped and maximized in delivering excellent farm practice that is hard and even possibly to beat in the current agricultural environment in Nigeria. The economic impact of the company’s operation is positive on the local community and noted constraints are not insurmountable.

Why pig?

Pig farming is a profitable occupation for both marginal and large-scale farmers. Pigs only require access to feed and water, fresh air, vaccination and warm accommodation (pen) to roam. A female pig (sow) can become pregnant once it is 8 months old.

A well-fed sow can produce between 10-15 piglets from each pregnancy and may have 2 pregnancy (litters) each year. Within a short period, piglets can attain marketable maturity, making the return over sponsorship quick and high.

Pigs have a very high feed conversion ratio/efficiency (FCR/FCE). This means pigs are able to convert more of the food they eat to body flesh and weight.

When compared with other livestock in the same category, one will discover that pigs have a faster growth rate. Because of this, you can be very sure of making profits within a short period of time.

Pigs are highly adaptable and easy to farm. Pigs are the best and most efficient animals for converting kitchen wastes, garbage, leftover food and other non-conventional feedstuffs into meat. Pigs also have a high resistance to diseases (they hardly get sick) and adapt easily to most environments (hot or cold). This makes it possible for pigs to be raised on both a small and large scale.
